Entity Life History (ELH) is a technique that enables monitoring of the life cycle of an entity (meaning a data item). In other words, ELH keeps track of the various events that bring about an entity's creation, updating, cancellation etc. This technique enables data models to be matched against transaction lists, as well as enabling tests of how complete and how "closed" a system is.
