CSCI

A Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) is a controlled configuration-management item, or a controlled configuration item, at the process or subsystem level. It is an "independent" logical unit which, upon undergoing any change, requires full configuration control and comprehensive testing of compatibility with all the CSCIs that comprise the overall system. The CSCI is a relatively large unit comprising smaller components called CSCs (Computer Software Components).
